First steps at Drayton House Day Nursery

Children may start in our Day Nursery from 6 months and move through to our Transition room once they are walking steadily. At rising two, the next step is to our Kindergarten room where children gain more independence and where they stay for approximately one year.

At rising three, children make the move to our upstairs classrooms. There are four classes, Forms 1 - 4, and children will progress according to their individual needs and readiness as well as their age.

The journey is a gradual one with the motto, "Children first", running through every decision we make.

Where traditional values and current thinking meet

Drayton House nursery school is also proud of its reputation as a nursery school with a strong educational background. We believe in giving children the opportunity to learn traditional basic skills, both social and academic, while encompassing the values and objectives outlined in the Early Years curriculum.

We believe that the home-from-home atmosphere, which is integral to all that we do, is a key ingredient to our success.

Most important of all, we aim to extend and broaden each child's learning experience as far as possible - remembering that childhood can, and should, have many magical moments.
